Walk the Plank
Fire, Smoke and Mirrors
Reflecting Kapoor's playful subversion of what we see and what we get, leading UK outdoor performance makers Walk the Plank transform Brighton's Queen's Park into an elemental nightscape of illusion and experience.
The park opens under the cover of darkness and your journey unfolds in a twilight meander across an enchanting landscape of fire and
water, light and shadow. Light floods dark places. Sound finds secret spaces. Mirrors distort and reflect. Floating flames defy physical laws as water burns bright. For the architects and artisans of this intimate outdoor installation the process is the performance. As they forge their work - molten glass blown into strange forms; sheet metal cut into flaming trees and towers - Queen's Park becomes a living, shimmering artwork itself.
