Hofesh Shechter Company
Bangers and Mash
For the second of Hofesh Shechter's Brighton
Festival events local and regional youth dance companies, plus five Brighton-based bands work with Shechter and his company to devise
and deliver a specially commissioned large scale performance exclusive to Brighton Festival.
The result is Bangers and Mash, an explosive event that brings to the fore Hofesh Shechter Company's trademark energy - sinuous floor work, highly physical sequences and dramatic ensembles - played
out to Shechter's own live score of primal grooves and hypnotic electronica.

Shechter - a man for all seasons - is not only the hottest choreographer on the block. He's a dancer, composer, musician and all round auteur. He often composes and performs his own scores, and has made waves across the cultural spectrum, from the National Theatre (St Joan) to E4's cult drama Skins (for which he choreographed the opening sequence).
Shechter's latest bout of frenetic creative endeavour is unleashed tonight as over 200 performers and musicians reveal the fruits of their collaborative labour.
Based on a project originally created with The Point, Eastleigh, where Hofesh Shechter was creative associate 2006 - 2008, and in association with Hampshire Dance.
