Meet the presenters

Brighton Festival Radio Presenters

Phill Jupitus & Phil Wilding

Phil Jupitus and Phil Wilding

Familiar to hundreds as the men who helped bring the BBC 6 Music network to life, Phill Jupitus and Phil Wilding left the nation’s airwaves after five years of waking at 5am and coughing like asthmatic tramps. Frankly, they were tired of it. Since then Phill Jupitus has regarded his guests quizzically as team captain on Never Mind The Buzzcocks as well as taking the West End by storm in a fake butt as the star of Hairspray. It’s hard to turn on Radio 4 without hearing his voice too. He also has an enormously popular podcast with Phil Wilding called The Perfect Ten. Neither can understand why it does so well. For his part, Phil Wilding is a writer and producer, his first novel is Cross Country Murder Song and it unnerves people, frankly. He can also be seen on the GMTV sofa occasionally. He also writes for Mojo, Empire and Classic Rock magazines. He’s currently ghosting someone’s memoir and scripting a computer game, consequently, he doesn’t have as much time to walk his dog as he’d like. Phil and Phil will be hosting Brighton Festival radio from 3-6pm on the 12th May.

Bryan Whellams

Tom Mallow

Tom Mallow

Tom mallow came to radio only 2 years ago, which was a bit backward as it has been around for most of the 209th century. Since then he has been doing shows in the Midlands on a freelance basis, along with voiceover ads for washing machines and power showers which are much in demand in that part of the country.

Previously he has been a comedy writer for TV pilots that never seem to have gotten made, apart from his pole dancing mockumentary that was shown on cable. They thought it was the real thing they were buying so he will never eat lunch in this country again he was told. "This will help me keep my weight down" says Tom.

For Brighton Festival Radio Tom will be presenting on Launch day 4-6 and again on Sunday 2nd 2-4pm.

The Two Wrongies

The Two Wrongies

The Two Wrongies celebrate and re-interpret the double act in a funny, crude, un-restrained honest female sort of way.

Pushing the Locker Room mentality in a brave exposé of the female sexual psyche, their onstage relationship, playful rivalry and absurdist humour is not for the faint hearted.

The Two Wrongies are Avis Cockbill and Janine Fletcher who share a love of bad jokes, lunging and the power of dance.…they are ‘the double act who dare to do the dirty!’

The Two Wrongies ‘World of Wrong ‘ is at The Basement 7th and 8th May and on Brighton Festival Radio 10-11pm 7th May.
