Guest Artistic Director Announced

Brighton Festival has appointed Turner Prize winning artist Anish Kapoor to the newly created role of Guest Artistic Director for Festival 2009. Anish Kapoor’s work will be presented throughout Brighton making a unique connection between the city and the artist.

Brighton Dome and Festival invites you to join the Commissioning Circle, a fund established to enable the development of ground-breaking productions with some of the world’s leading artists. The Commissioning Circle will enable performances of the highest quality year-round within the Brighton Dome programme and on the international stage of Brighton Festival.

New Company in Residence

Hofesh Shechter Company becomes Brighton Dome and Festival’s first resident company. The collaboration between the South Coast’s leading arts venue will include a new commission and education project and the premiere of a new full length work in May 2010.

Life Beyond the Festival

In 2006 Brighton Festival commissioned the creators of Stomp to make a brand new show The Lost and Found Orchestra. After a trailblazing run in Brighton, the show went on to take Sydney Festival by storm and now this Brighton Festival commission starts a new life at London’s Royal Festival Hall.
